Sesimbra

Turquoise water and rocky cliffs at Ribeiro do Cavalo beach near Sesimbra

Sesimbra is a fishing town on the coast south of Lisbon, tucked beneath the cliffs of the Arrábida Natural Park on the Professor Luiz Saldanha Marine Park coastline. That protected shoreline gives it some of the clearest sea water near Lisbon — which is why Sesimbra is best experienced from the water, usually as a day trip from the city.

Paddling is the classic way in: our wild Sesimbra kayak tour with transfer from Lisbon explores the coves and sea cliffs west of town, no experience needed. It is the flagship of our kayaking experiences.

The same coast anchors the region’s dolphin and boat trips — resident dolphins live in the nearby Sado estuary, and excursions run along the Arrábida shore. Browse our dolphin watching trips and boat tours, or see everything reachable in a day in our day trips from Lisbon.
